Nigerian Reggae Veteran Ras Kimono Dies at 60

A veteran in the Reggae business in Nigeria, Ras Kimono, has passed on.

The famous performer kicked the bucket some days in the wake of commending his 60th birthday celebration.

Ras Kimono inhaled his last at the Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He was exchanged to Lagoon Hospital on Saturday from a clinic in the Ikeja region of Lagos after he fell sick yesterday.

The vocalist was expected for a restorative outing to the United States previously he passed on at the beginning of today.

The news of his death has crushed his relatives and companions in the music business in Nigeria, including Mr Tony Okoroji, who guaranteed that Ras Kimono’s 60th birthday celebration was commended at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) held at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja with different veterans in participation.

“COSON profoundly laments to declare the passing on of a bleeding edge individual from our board, incredible African and extraordinary artist, the reggae toaster, the considerable Ras Kimono Onwubuya,” COSON affirmed on Sunday evening.
